“Rolls Royce” was born on November 7 1985 and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Growing up in Los Angeles, he experienced the diversity of a large metropolitan City. It was important to have prepared yourself when opportunities presented themselves as there was always someone else there to step in if you weren’t on your game.
The challenges of growing up in LA were prevalent in all aspects of being a young bi-racial male. Royce stayed positive and focused on things that brought him success like athletics. Being a natural athlete he played various sports while growing up that brought him notoriety and respect. This opportunity provided him an avenue for setting goals and continuously striving for excellence. His dedication to sports along with a strong support system kept him away from negativity and a path that led to gangs and violence. During this time Royce developed a love for hip hop and rap music. He began to write songs while on road trips and was influenced by artists like, Notorious BIG, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, Cassidy and Jadakiss to name a couple. He made a decision during this time that he wanted to be an artist and get involved in the Entertainment business. He found he enjoyed being in the studio and it felt good to work hard knowing that one day he to would hopefully be influencing others to enter the world of hip hop.
By the age of 18 Royce had written numerous songs, performed lived for various events/venues and had a true grasp and understanding of his music and what he wanted it to say. He understands the dedication and hard work that is necessary to become successful in this business. Royce understands the networking and marketability that goes hand in hand with the business. Due to his personality and salesmanship Royce sourced opportunities to work with various artists such as; (Young Soprano “Hoobangin Records/2G’D Music Group”, Ak’Sent “Capitol Records”. Royce has also been able to work with producers such as; (“J Classic”, “Juss 1”,”Bruce Bang”& “Michael 5000 Watts” (SwishaHouse) who are two of the biggest producers out of Houston, TX. Royce’s most recent event in Las Vegas, at Poetry Night Club located in Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino, was a sold out event hosted by his road manager Gary Payton (N.B.A. Player). This event was a defining moment that let the world know that Royce has what it takes and has the “total package” to go in any market and be successful.
Royce has been successful because of his unique voice, new sound/presence on a track, and his ability to entertain. His music is definitely a breath of fresh air. Along with the determination and “hustle hard” mentality, Royce has accomplished a great deal in his young life. With the challenging state of the music industry, Royce along with his RMC/Shirt King affiliates have come up with new and innovative ways to get his music to the masses.
